Yellow Star: Due Monday May 13

Title: Yellow Star

You have lived on this earth long enough to be able to recognize some of your most rewarding and beautiful experiences. In elementary school these experiences were rewarded with a “yellow star” sticker. Make a list of your ten most rewarding and beautiful experiences. Write a sentence explaining why each experience was special to you. When you are finished put them in ranked order starting with your most rewarding as number 1.

Check out mine below:

1. Coca-Cola Scholarship Trip – This weekend was the opportunity of a life time because I met so many wonderful people and got to see life outside of Pierce City when I traveled to Atlanta, Georgia all on my own.
2. Student Council Summer Leadership Camp – This is the most exciting week of the year for me even though now I am no longer a kid but an advisor to all the wonderful kids involved in MASC.
3. Attending the University of Arkansas – Though I didn’t want to go there initially I am forever grateful that my mom forced me to attend the U of A because I made the most amazing friends and made the most wonderful memories.
4. My Wedding Day – Everyone who is married probably says this because it is a life-changing day, I can finally call Kyle my Husband which means that he will forever be in my life and there are many more memories to be made.
5. Graduating with a Masters in Secondary Counseling- The entire graduate school experience was a whirlwind for me because I was working as a teacher while I went to school but the outcome is the greatest feeling because it means that I can finally do the work that I was put on this earth to do, I can’t wait to get started.
6. Buying a house – Buying a house is probably the biggest purchase I will every make in my life and it is also the first thing that Kyle and I bought together that was a major investment in our future.
7. Getting my drivers license – A driver’s license is like the first step to true adulthood it meant that I was able to go when I wanted and gave me new adventures to travel with friends.
8. Running a marathon – At the end of the race I felt a rush of energy and excitement because I had accomplished such a great feat and I can’t wait to do it again.
9. Being Class Valedictorian – It was like the icing on the cake after all the scholarship I had received, it was the title that told me all my hard work in HS had paid off.
10. Birth of little ones – I may not have my own kids but some of the best things in my life come from my relationship with Roo, M, Doe, Payton, and Colton. Watching these kids grow has been very rewarding and makes me proud.
